Wifi access in the Flying Angel Garden

Flying Angel Centre

A comfortable carpeted lounge with TV, historical cabinet, ship models, kitchen, worktop space for laptop use. Free internet/wi-fi access, laptops available for use with headphones, souvenirs, phone cards and Lebara Sims and Top Ups for sale.

Library

A unique, telephone box, library stands in the garden, accessible 24 hours a day with free books and bibles in many languages.

Flaminia Summerhouse

Accessible when the Main Centre is closed. Carpeted and in a lounge style. Free internet/wi-fi access. Heated.

Games Room/Clothing Store

Two rails of clothes, hats, scarves and gloves – all free of charge for seafarers. Table Football Game.

Seafarers Garden & Patio

The Mission boasts an Award-winning garden, designed for seafarers to enjoy. A covered in patio area with picnic bench seats 8 and further benches around the garden seat 20. Waterfall, greenhouse, ruins of a Cornish Tin Mine, anchor, boat planters and remembrance garden.

Portable Toilet

Armal Topline portable toilet facility is available within the complex.

St Nicholas Chapel for Seafarers

The St Nicholas Chapel for Seafarers is also available for seafarers who require spending some quiet time alone in prayer, whilst inside the Main Centre a prayer box allows seafarers to privately leave a prayer for the Centre’s Hon Chaplain to say on their behalf.

Internet and Telephones

Since the Year of the Seafarer in 2010 wi-fi has been free to seafarers, with 24 hour, 7 days a week access.

The Centre has provided two private phone boxes and two portable phones for seafarers to use with the Mission’s own International Telephone Card. Rates for the card have remained unchanged since 2008 at £6, €8 and $10 for the card which gives over 80 minutes to Manila, for example. Lebara cards and top-ups are also available at the Centre along with a Foreign Exchange facility.

Clothing

Warm clothes are provided at the centre, along with woolly hats, gloves and scarves – all free for seafarers.

Falmouth’s motto is “we care – because seafarers are special”
– you’ll get a wristband with these words on when you visit!
